Report:State of play and preparedness for the real-time economy in Estonia and the Baltic Sea region countries

The Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communication is pleased to announce the release of a comprehensive report funded by The European Commission and prepared by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), detailing with the state of Real-Time Economy (RTE). The readiness for the Baltic Sea region countries in RTE domains are found in joint prioritisation and cooperation.

Real-Time Economy, a term coined and widely used in Estonia and Finland, refers to the use of technology to enable the seamless and instantaneous exchange of information and transactions between businesses and government. In the Nordics, the same concept has a different emphasis and is referred to as the Nordic Smart Government and Business but supports the same idea of wide digitalisation in similar areas. This common understanding and approach can lead to increased efficiency, cost savings, and improved decision-making for businesses and government services.
